Russian PM officially extends $100 gas discount for Ukraine
MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a ruling extending a gas discount to Ukraine for April–June amounting to the Russian export duty on gas, but not exceeding U.S. $100 per 1,000 cubic meters, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The export duty is calculated under a following formula: under a price of $333.3 or more per 1,000 cubic meters the discount stands at $100, under a price below $333.3 the discount stands at 30% of such price,” the government said.
The ruling extends the discount for a period from April 1 through June 30.
Gazprom received a request to extend the discount, which was provided within a so-called winter gas package, which expired on Tuesday, until July 1 from Ukrainian state energy company Naftogaz Ukrainy and asked the government to satisfy it.
